A school magazine contains the literary works and other information of a school. Generally, a school magazine is published every year by the concerned school.
The magazine is generally given an attractive and beautiful name. There a magazine committee is also formed in order to publish the magazine smoothly. The members of the committee are known as patron, adviser, editor, assistant editors, business editors, proofreaders, assistant proofreaders etc.
The head of the school holds the post of chief patron and a senior teacher becomes he adviser. The editor, business editors and the assistant proofreaders are selected from the students.
A magazine fund is also made up to bear the expenditure of the school magazine. The editor invites writings from the students and teachers. Then after proper scrutiny, the best one’s are selected for publishing. The business editors collect some money by selling spaces in the magazine for advertisements.
There are messages from the head of the school and the secretary of the school, annual reports, essays, short stories, short plays etc in it. It also contains jokes, quizzes and puzzles etc. Most of the articles are written by the students. A few articles are contributed by the teachers.
A school magazine greatly helps promoting team-spirit among the students. It helps them enrich their creativity. A school magazine is also a great source of pleasure for the students.
